Leonard Gross, Physics Professor at Cornell

Dr. Leonard Gross received a National Science Foundation Fellowship in 1959. After receiving his doctorate in mathematics from the University of Chicago in 1958, he went on to teach at Yale. A year later, he was employed as a professor at Cornell, where he reached full professor status in 1968.

Dr. Gross's physics research at Cornell is specifically centered on functional analysis and quantum field theory. In his own words, he describes his research as "an analysis over infinite dimensional spaces."

In 2004, Dr. Gross was honored by being inducted into the American Academy of Arts and Sciences. Other honors include being awarded a Guggenheim Foundation Fellowship and the Humboldt Foundation Senior Scientist Award.
